Located in the quaint neighbourhood of Jumeirah 1, Gimi is one of the very few Korean restaurants to have made their way to Dubai.
The service at Gimi is excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They are always happy to help you choose the right dishes and to make sure that you have a enjoyable dining experience.
Here are some specific food recommendations from my experience at Gimi:
- Korean Fried Chicken – Chicken thigh, Spicy Sauce, Sesame Seeds
- Jinju S – Steamed Shrimp, Black Tobiko, Chives, Chili Oil
- Fried Maitake with Ssamjang – Ssamjang powder, Jangajji Mayo, Togarashi
- Bibimbap – Carrots, Onion, Egg, Gochujang sauce, Mushroom
- Steamed Seabass – Lotus Leaves, Kaffir Lime, Confit Leeks, Coconut Rice
- Black Yuzu Cheese Cake – Charcoal Powder, Strawberry Mochi
With beautiful and plush interiors, Gimi sure sets the tone right with the first look. Perfect for a casual plan with your friends, Gimi is a restaurant that combines Korean and Southeast Asian cuisine, with a focus on popular street food dishes that are both familiar and new. The restaurant’s cool and trendy atmosphere is evident as soon as you walk in, with brown leather sofas, marble tabletops, and a light-to-dark design inspired by Korean streets creating a warm and inviting dining space.
The presentation of the food sure tickles your taste buds and makes you want to binge on everything in the menu. A bar in the centre of the restaurant promises an evening to unwind with friends after work. And bringing a touch of K-pop to this Korean-Southeast Asian dining concept, K-pop Funko Pop dolls steal the limelight — literally — as they are under lamps on the bar. An outside terrace is ready to welcome diners ahead of the winter season.
Overall, Gimi is a great restaurant for Korean food in Dubai. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the service is excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Korean dining experience.
