Belcanto Dubai is a culinary masterpiece that not only delights the palate but also captivates the senses with its exquisite interiors and ambiance. Nestled within the prestigious Dubai Opera House, this Italian restaurant offers a truly immersive dining experience.
Belcanto’s interiors evoke the grandeur of a classic Italian opera house, blending elegance with sophistication. Ornate chandeliers add glamour, while rich fabrics like velvet and plush carpets create a luxurious ambiance. Theatrical elements, including dramatic lighting and stage-like layouts, enhance the experience, while contemporary touches ensure a fresh and modern feel.
This gorgeous Italian restaurant offers a serene Italian escape with an ambiance that is intimate and refined, perfect for special occasions or romantic dinners. The warm and inviting atmosphere is crafted through soft lighting, comfortable seating, and attentive service. Live music performances add a touch of sophistication, while the outdoor terrace provides a more relaxed setting with stunning views of the Dubai Opera House, enhancing the tranquil experience.
For the food review, we were offered the Tradizione Menu which consisted of the following dishes:
- STUZZICHINO DI BENVENUTO – This dish was a warm welcome to guests, consisting of a small, elegantly prepared crispy crostini. The Stuzzichino di Benvenuto was a bite-sized delight designed to tantalize the palate and set the tone for the meal ahead.
- PARMIGIANA DI MELANZANE – A quintessential Italian comfort food, Parmigiana di Melanzane was hearty and made by layering thin slices of eggplant with a fresh, tangy tomato sauce, basil, and the perfect combination of cheeses such as mozzarella and Parmesan. The layers had been baked until golden on top. The eggplant served tosoak up the juices and absorb all that fresh flavour, resulting in a deliciously tender casserole that embodied the essence of traditional Italian cooking.
- VITELLO TONNATO – The Vitello Tonnato was another classic Italian dish that combined tender veal with a smooth, creamy tuna sauce. The veal being served was exceptionally fresh and succulent while the sauce had made from a combination of tuna, mayonnaise, capers, anchovies, and lemon juice, creating a rich but perfectly balanced sauce that paired with the veal.
- LASAGNETTA GRATINATA ALLA LIGURE – This dish turned out to be a slightly more elevated version of traditional lasagna, served in a smaller portion as a “lasagnetta.” The Ligurian twist was the addition of basil pesto, which added a fresh, aromatic flavour to the dish. The lasagna was layered with thin sheets of pasta, béchamel sauce, and a light tomato sauce, then topped with Parmesan cheese.
- TRIGLIA ARROSTITA – The Triglia Arrostitata consisted ofthe delicate and flavorful red mullet, a fish prized for its tender flesh and sweet flavor. The fish had been roasted to perfection, enhancing its natural flavors while keeping the meat succulent. The presentation was also exceptionally chic and minimalist with the fish fillet resting atop the sauce.
- LIMONE COSTIERA AMALFITANA – This dessert was an unabashed celebration ofthe vibrant flavours of the Amalfi Coast, renowned for its lemons. The Limone “Costiera Amalfitana” was a served in the form of a lemon tart all centered around the zesty, aromatic Amalfi lemon. The dessert was light and refreshing, with a balance of sweetness and tartness that cleansed the palate.
Overall, Belcanto Dubai is a culinary and aesthetic masterpiece that transports diners to a world of Italian elegance and sophistication. Its exquisite interiors, refined ambiance, and exceptional cuisine make it a must-visit destination for discerning food lovers.
